MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phones may be brought to school provided the following protocols are observed by students at all times:

  1. mobiles must be switched off during class, assembly, ceremonies and meetings
  2. mobiles must remain in bags (switched off), not on desks during examinations
  3. mobiles must be accepted as the student’s responsibility - not the school’s - for duty of care
  4. mobiles must not be used to by-pass school procedures in relation to school-parent contact, such as the official notification of student illness
  5. mobile phones are brought to school at the student’sown risk. Liability for loss or damage to a mobile phone is not accepted. If a phone goes missing the student should report the matter to the class teacher or Deputy Principal as soon as possible. Whilst every effort will be made to investigate, recovery is not always possible.
