Curriculum Enrichment Activities

Each year the school offers a wide variety of activities that enrich the education of the students, suitable for individuals and groups. They include performance groups, a variety of faculty related activities, competitions and clubs or groups.

MUSIC

band

There are many musical groups within the school catering for the varied interests and talents of the students. Such groups offer many opportunities for students to gain valuable performing experience. These include orchestra, stage band, brass ensemble, concert band, flute ensemble and junior and senior choir.

Arrangements for auditions can be made by contacting the Head Teacher Performing Arts.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

In addition to music, students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of junior and senior groups and activities such as dance ensembles, aerobic teams and debating team. Interschool Christian Fellowship and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme are also available to students. There are interest clubs available providing such activities as drama, pottery and chess, just to name a few.

SUBJECT-BASED COMPETITIONS

Students are also able to enter a variety of subject-based competitions which provide a challenging experience at all levels. They have the opportunity to earn certificates which are a valuable addition to a student’s resume.

The times and days of these activities are published in a special booklet cataloguing all activities available. The booklet is updated each year. Specific details are communicated in Daily (“blue”) notices issued during lesson one each day, or on student notice boards.
